Chudleigh Business Guild was established in March 2006. Our objective is to promote and improve the trading interests of our members and of the town and district.
Our committee is made up of volunteers, and we are always pleased to welcome new committee members into the team.
At present, our membership stands at around 80, representing more than 50% of the businesses in the area. For a £15 annual fee, all members get their own page on this website, together with the opportunity to be a featured business on the site's home page.
We are responsible for publishing the Chudleigh Town Guide and Trade Directory which first appeared in 2007. The new, improved 2011 edition has recently been published with a list of all members. It also includes a street plan, town history, lists of clubs and societies, local information, etc. It is being delivered to all the homes in the district and is also available electronically on this website.
The Guild has a good working relationship with the local Town Council and is currently working on many issues with them including the Chudleigh Masterplan, a 'Buy Local' campaign and lots of other projects all about the promotion of Chudleigh, it's people and businesses.
Guild meetings are held on a bi-monthly basis, discussing and debating many issues. Topics for this year include running a small business and surviving in the current economic climate; tax advice from HMRC; and how to make IT work for your business. We also organise social events where members can network in a more informal manner. All of these dates can be found on the News Article page of this website.
As you can see, we mean business. We are not a talk and do nothing organisation. By joining our ranks you can have your say on matters that mean most to you.
